Mobile Apps
Muncak App
Muncak is a mobile application tailored for hikers and mountaineers. It serves as a digital guide, offering detailed trail information, real-time weather forecasts, and essential preparation checklists. The app aims to enhance safety and enjoyment in the outdoors by providing reliable data and offline map capabilities for areas with poor cellular reception.
Challenge
Hikers often rely on fragmented information from various blogs and forums to plan their trips. Once on the mountain, losing cellular signal can make navigation dangerous, and sudden weather changes are a constant threat if not properly anticipated.
Approach
I designed Muncak as a centralized hub for mountaineering data. The core technical challenge was implementing a robust offline-first architecture. Using Flutter, I integrated map caching so users can download specific mountain regions before they lose signal.
Outcome
Muncak provides peace of mind for adventurers. By combining reliable offline maps with essential planning tools in one intuitive interface, users can focus on the beauty of the climb rather than worrying about getting lost or being underprepared.
